Naomichi Marufuji drops industry-shaking tease; WWE/Netflix involved

Pro Wrestling NOAH legend Naomichi Marufuji has teased a new project involving WWE. The Japanese wrestler has not wrestled in WWE, but represents NOAH as part of the deal between the two organizations. Marufuji has now taken on X to share an image from his Netflix shoot, which is possibly related to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Marufuji recently posted a picture with Kenoh and Kaito Kiyomiya standing behind the Netflix logo. In the caption, the legend revealed that he and his colleagues visited the Netflix office for a shoot. He added that the experience was “way too perfect” for him.

Marufuji concluded that full details of the visit will be announced soon and that everyone should look forward to it.

Pro Wrestling NOAH stars’ visit to the Netflix office could be for a WWE-related shoot. The Stamford-based promotion and the Japanese company have had a working relationship for a while now.

Given the involvement of WWE’s streaming partner, Netflix, NOAH’s talents could appear on RAW in the near future or at a cross-promotional premium live event, which could shake up the industry. However, this hasn’t been confirmed. Only time will tell what is in store for NOAH and WWE’s partnership.

Naomichi Marufuji wrestled AJ Styles in 2024

One of the most high-profile WWE vs. NOAH matchups was held at Destination 2024. Naomichi Marufuji locked horns with AJ Styles in a dream match on July 13. It was The Phenomenal One who visited Tokyo to return to his Japanese wrestling roots. Styles won that match with a Styles Clash. This bout seemingly helped strengthen the relationship between the two organizations.

Since then, many more interpromotional matches have taken place featuring stars of the two companies. At NOAH The New Year 2025, Shinsuke Nakamura wrestled Ulka Sasaki. On the same night, WWE’s Omos teamed up with Jack Morris to win the GHC Tag Team Championship from Naomichi Marufuji & Takashi Sugiura.

Last October, at Wrestle Odyssey, NXT’s Charlie Dempsey and Harlem Lewis locked horns with Jack Morris & Ulka Sasaki.
